What college basketball was is a nice thing to know. What it is now is something entirely different. I’ve always thought this artificial notion of keeping basketball players in school for four years was absurd. If a think-tank wants to hire a brilliant econ major before he’s done with four years of school, would we blink? When your talents are developed to a professional level, it’s just absurd to pretend to be a college student and play for free. Erving Walker would have jumped after one year if he had the had the option - I guarantee it. So would I, so would the journalist who wrote this piece.

I’m sorry that Erving Walker’s Senior Day sucked for him, but if Florida wanted to win… they shoulda played harder. Just sayin’. You know you’re playing Kentucky, so bring it, because we’re not gonna treat you nice either.
