Last week I worked with the National Alzheimer’s Association in Washington D.C.
I had a chance to photograph legendary Tennessee University basketball coach Pat Summit. After being the head women’s basketball coach for 38 years, she chose to step down when she was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Since the news of her disease, she has given a face to a “not so well known” form of this deadly disease.
Last Tuesday she received an award from the National Alzheimer’s Association for her efforts in support of finding a cure.
