Today, I’d like to continue the series I call ‘cleaning out my work folder’.
Kidding. I’m kidding. I do, however, have a backlog of interviews I did during the offseason that yielded one or two quotes for publication, and I have always held onto those so I can share them with STF readers once any danger of scooping my ownself is past.
Today, we’ll listen up as Dave Rice, the new head guy at UNLV, tells us how he plans to get back to Runnin’ with the Rebels.
You’re coming back to a program you know well. How much have things changed since you were a player at UNLV?
Since I’ve played there, there have obviously been a number of changes, because I graduated in ’91. The thing for me that’s been great to help the transition is that I was here at UNLV as an assistant coach for eleven years. So I’ve only been gone from UNLV for seven. Many members of the administration are still here, the support staff, our academic advisor, equipment manager, strength coach: a lot of people are still in place. That’s made the transition a lot more smooth.
