Three Tar Heels, Virginia's Scott among Wooden Award finalists | ACC Insider
“Scott might not be the most hyped player nationally, or even in the ACC’s own “geographic footprint.” But to this point in the season, he’s been the league’s best all-around player and deserves more recognition than he’s getting.”

Virginia vs. Duke tonight. Time to determine if UVA is the third best team in the league, or can aspire to something more.
Mike Scott.

"Accounting for the brutally slow tempo UVa plays at, Scott provides one of the best scoring and rebounding combinations in the country and anchors one of the nation’s best defenses on top of that. Pick your favorite big-man player of the year candidate for comparison and drink the tempo-free nectar."

"Once he drives into the paint, everything opens up,” forward Mike Scott said. “We got Joe [Harris] and Sam [Zeglinski] on the wings, me and Assane [Sene] down low. We’re just feeding off him."

Mike Scott embraces grandfather role with Cavaliers - Roanoke.com
As a Cville resident, I’m hoping Scott has a fantastic year:
Scott was never better than he was last season, in what was supposed to be his last in Charlottesville. He was a double-double machine, averaging 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds through 10 games. He posted more consecutive double-doubles (five) than any Virginia player since Ralph Sampson.
And then he got hurt. After receiving a medical hardship waiver, he’s back for yet another season — his fifth as a Cavalier and, including a year of prep school, his sixth since graduating from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake.
“I was the father of the team last year,” he said. “Now, I’m like the grandfather.”
