Dennis Rodman

He played for the Wolverines from 1986 to 1990, and during his time there, he was widely regarded as one of the best players in the country. Juwan Howard 

Juwan Howard was a star player for the University of Michigan’s “Fab Five” basketball team in the early 1990s. Afterward, he enjoyed a successful career in the NBA, playing for several different teams throughout his 18-year career. Howard retired from playing in 2013, but he didn’t stay away from the game for long.

In 2019, he was hired as the head coach of his alma mater, the University of Michigan. Since then, he has led the Wolverines to two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.

Jalen Rose

Rose helped lead the Wolverines to consecutive NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship games in 1992 and 1993, losing to Duke University. He then embarked on a 13-year career in the NBA, playing for six different teams before retiring in 2007.

In addition to his work in television, Rose is also the founder of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, a public charter school in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

Mitch McGary 

Mitch McGary is a 6’10” power forward who played college basketball for the University of Michigan. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan, and attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. McGary helped lead the Wolverines to the NCAA championship game as a freshman at Michigan.

He was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after averaging 10 points and seven rebounds per game. After his sophomore season, McGary declared for the NBA draft, but he was not selected.

He signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and played for their D-League team, the Oklahoma City Blue. In 2015, McGary was suspended for violating the NBA’s substance abuse policy. He has not played in the NBA since.

Trey Burke 

Trey Burke is a star player for the University of Michigan men’s basketball team. Burke was a 6’1″ point guard from Columbus, Ohio, a highly touted recruit coming out of high school. He has lived up to the hype, leading the Wolverines to the NCAA tournament in his first two seasons.

As a sophomore, Burke was named the Big Ten Player of the Year after averaging 19.2 points and 6.7 assists per game. Tim Hardaway 

Tim Hardaway is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Hardaway was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He played college basketball at the University of Michigan from 1985 to 1989.

The Golden State Warriors drafted Hardaway with the 14th overall pick in the 1989 NBA draft. He played for the Warriors for four seasons before being traded to the Miami Heat in 1993.

Hardaway enjoyed his best years as a member of the Heat, where he formed a formidable partnership with center Alonzo Mourning known as “The Heatles.” The two led the Heat to four playoff appearances, including an appearance in the 1997 NBA Finals. In 2001, Hardaway played for several other teams throughout his NBA career following his departure from the Heat.

He retired from playing professional basketball in 2006. Since his retirement, Hardaway has worked as a coach and television analyst. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons of the NBA.
